‘Art is Dead.’ A common theme that seemed to gain traction in the late 60’s, kinda like song writers saying there are no new songs to write. It is, of course, bullcrap! When all the different periods of art had played out – from cave paintings to abstract, intellectuals thought it was all said (maybe) but it is certainly not done. Art is an evolution revolution, it’s constantly morphing beyond the most imaginative changes. We cannot imagine the art of the future because it is cultural, and culture has to grow. I might have thought that nothing new could be found or created but I’d be wrong… I’m constantly amazed at the new executions and amazing results Artists are achieving today. Art cannot stop – it must continue to expand the human experience. Cave walls have only evolved to the canvas, we must share this life experience with the present and future. I never imagined Quads, only had them find me; clever and brilliant I’m not, but I persevere and allow culture to create in me. Quads are new, but not as a human experience. I’m quite sure someone as a novelty came upon this, but not as a body of work in a spontaneous effort. I create art from a subconscious level in an honest effort to evolve in the world of creation as a creator, an artist… honestly recording my life experiences. I have created work that sold well and was well received, only to change my direction – following my cultural path. It brings with it criticism and disappointment from those who pigeonhole my style, but I will evolve and change. Why? BECAUSE ART IS NOT DEAD. Not only is it alive it is nurturing all of us in every form of our lives, it is the advancement of our visual world,it is the daily change we all need to feel current in our Human experience and is not through with me or you.
